Much to my mother’s disgust, I started telling stories (aka lies, perhaps) when I was a child. I grew up in a large family in Jamaica with stories and storytellers everywhere. Later, I became a librarian and surrounded myself with more stories. When I entered my fourth decade and began to feel like a grown-up who had finally done some living, I decided I wanted to share stories with children and their families.
Stories pass on information, inspire imagination and bring people together. Everyone has a story to tell and stories live on long after the teller is gone.

As Phillip Pullman said at his Carnegie Medal acceptance speech, “‘Thou shalt not’ is soon forgotten, but ‘Once upon a time’ lasts forever.”
Here you will get to know me as a story-. I hope you enjoy what you see and invite me into your life to share some of the best children’s stories and songs!
